Southern Elegance Alpacas

Our barn cat, Heidi, gave birth to four lovely kittens in March of 2022, Milo (orange/white), Otis (tan/white), Matilda (dark calico), and Josephine (light calico). Unfortunately, Heidi disappeared a few months ago, but her children, now grown, still consider this home.

               Is Breakfast Ready Yet?

“Come on up, Matilda. It’s great fun!”

“You have the best ideas, Milo!”

They gather at the back door every morning and evening with our farm dogs, waiting for their kitty food. Milo dreams of being an indoor cat, I think. He’s an attention hog, and often tries to poke his nose into the house, even when Clare, our indoor dog, growls her disapproval. He must believe I’m getting paid for my service, because he sits facing me squarely and meows like all get-out when breakfast is a little late. Start catching mice instead of birds, Milo.

Milo is also the acrobat. We find him in all sorts of places. Matilda is usually close behind him. She’s second to Milo in friendliness, and she has the softest fur of all of them. Otis and Josephine are more shy.

“What are you guys doing up there?”

“I don’t think this was such a good idea. Help!”
